EMPLOYERS' GUIDELINES

Guidelines for National Job Postings

  1. Positions must be senior level administrative and/or management positions.
  2. The minimum salary for positions must be $35,000.
  3. A position description must accompany the job posting including the minimum salary.
  4. Closing date for receipt of applications must be specified.
  5. The location of where the position is located must be included.
  6. Contact details for the company/organization posting the career opportunity must be provided.
  7. A fee for each position distributed will be charged to companies/organizations wishing to circulate positions via the Association's e-mail distribution system and posting to the Association's website based on the following:
    Distribution to Association Members by e-mail and posting on the Home Page of the Association's website under Careers (public access) Fee: $200.00
    Note: there is a $50.00 charge to change any vacancy once distributed to the membership and posted on our web-site.

Potential Employers should contact the Director-President, Barbara Grogan at contact@aaa.ca regarding posting of job vacancies in Canada for e-mail distribution to our members or for our web site.

  • Office Workers Career Centre , a non-profit organization to provide employment services to administrative workers In Toronto area only. They have workshops for both professional development and for job-finding as well as a computer lab for self-learning. They have also been involved with Administrative Assistant's Update in the capacity of providing articles from their latest research "The Impact of E-Business on Office Work". Services are free to the unemployed, funded through Human Resources Development Canada. Employed administrative professionals can attend workshops or book tutorial time at a low cost.
  • The Government of Canada web-site is a great site of the Human Resources Department for information on job titles, salaries (based on province, city, job title, and comparison with other locations in Canada).

A resounding success ... the recent national annual events held at Blue Mountain, Ontario were well attended and the professional seminar day on Friday, June 4th was a sellout success. Host Barrie/Simcoe County branch thanks all participants and our two speakers who provided insight into the partnership between employer and admin assistant - "Be The Ultimate Assistant" Bonnie Low-Kramen, pictured above (www.BonnieLowKramen.com) and Deborah Joslin who guided participants' goal-setting and vision-boarding - "Directing your Future" (www.admindesk.ca)
