NEW BRANCH
"New Branch in Barrie/Simcoe County"
Branch Inaugural in Barrie/Simcoe CountyThe City of Barrie and County of Simcoe in Ontario welcomed the newest branch of the Association of Administrative Assistants at the official launch of the Barrie/Simcoe County Branch on October 26, 2006. Formed by an enthusiastic and professional group of women, the Barrie/Simcoe County branch was formally ratified at the Annual General Meeting of the Association in Ottawa in May 2006.
Our members have indicated a preference for monthly meetings that provide discussions and presentations on professionally-related topics pertaining to the role of the office administrator in particular and also provide a venue for networking opportunities. The response has been overwhelming in the area, providing proof that this type of professional development opportunity and involvement with a professional association is needed and desired in the community.
Georgian College is also in the process of having courses assessed, to be able to offer them for students enrolling in the Q.A.A. program. Stay tuned for further updates!
