TORONTO BRANCH

Toronto

Welcome to Toronto, ON Canada, where the Association of Administrative Assistants was born. From the inaugural meeting of the Association of Private Secretaries in April 1951 to the Letters Patent in November 1952, now called Association of Administrative Assistants, has been blessed with over 700 Qualified Administrative Assistant graduates located throughout our great country.

With the encouragement of two gentlemen at the University of Toronto, W.G. Frisby and Dr. W.J. Dunlop, back in the 1940s, conferences took place with regard to advancing education avenues and exchanging ideas for those willing to continuously increase their knowledge base in the secretarial field. A group of women, along with their dedication, determination and continued enthusiasm, under the guidance and support of these two gentlemen, brought our organization to life.

With the many years of continuous learning, the members, both past and present, continue to make friendships, network and enjoy what life has to offer in the administrative arena. Join us now to have win-win experiences and celebrate the Association's 60th Anniversary in 2012.

Our General Monthly meetings are held at:
Princess Margaret Hospital
610 University Ave.
6:00 p.m. Networking
6:30 p.m. Guest Speaker
7:45 p.m. General Meeting

CURRENT NEWS

60th

The Association of Administrative Assistants celebrates 60 years of 'Professionalism through Education' in May 2012.

May 24th will be a public workshop with two guest speakers. We are proud to have both Helen Wilkie, President Elect for the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS), followed by an afternoon with Rhonda Scharf from On the Right Track. On May 25th, the Toronto Charter Branch will host the National Board meeting --- free to all members, however no voting rights for motions on the floor. This is a great opportunity to experience the 'behind the scenes' discussions on how a Canadian non-for-profit organization manages Association business. The 26th of May will encompass the National Annual General meeting with budget and election process, followed by a Qualified Administrative Assistant luncheon.

Please mark these dates in your calendars and join us on May 24-26, 2012, in Toronto, to help celebrate this glorious milestone! Watch for further details in the coming months.
